| Description | Sommerville: Agate-Onyx. A warrior with Shield and Lance. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case VV. Vermeule: Agate-Onyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Bust of Czar Alexander I of Russia facing left in ancient style armor. Wears an elaborate plumed helmet and a breast plate, carries a shield and spear. Probably late 18th or 19th century, and features are those of a person of those periods. Kagan: Tsar Alexander I as Rodomyste Aetai, Russia C. 1825. Imperial Kolyvanfact; unfinished piece - roughly around Alexander's death(?) |
