| Description | Sommerville: Antique paste intaglio, color dark sard. Abundance. Antique Pastes, Case UUU. Vermeule: Glass paste, imitating Sard. Intaglio. (Unmounted) Due to iridescence and deterioration, the subject is difficult to see. It appears to be a divinity (probably in a cuirass and therefore perhaps Jupiter Dolichanus) on the top of a bull, a ram and a third beast, the forepart of which protrudes from the lower of the composition. Graeco-Roman. |
