| Description | Mat seat. Rectangle of plain woven rattan peel with what appears to once have been a decorative arch of projecting tufts of peel, echoing the outlines of the mat. Visible on the back, criss-crossing lines of darker peel. Fastened through the top, twisted cords of plant fiber for tying around waist, ending in double tassels with a few tiny trade beads. Worn by men, suspended from the waist at back, ready to sit on in the forest. |
