| Description | "Samarra painted ware." Rim sherd from large heavy bowl; shallow with sharply everted rim. Buff paste, no visible temper. Decorated with thick brown paint on matte surface. Exterior: three annular bands, irregular lozenges between the top two. Interior: negative pattern. Cross hatched band at rim, parallel steps on sides, follow by annular bands. Cross hatched bottom. |
