| Description | Temple hanging scroll. Illuminated painting of Kannon Bosatsu. Her headdress contains a standing Amida Buddha. She is seated in a traditional Bodhisattva posture against a circular white nimbus and halo. She holds a lotus flower emblem in her left hand while the right hand is in the abhaya mudra (Jp: semui-in). Above appears the Sanskrit character, Sa, representing the seed symbol for Kannon Bosatsu. |
