| Description | Flat piece of wood carved to leave a pattern in high relief. The block is inked and pressed onto the skin as a guide for the tattooing. Design is two concentric bands of radiating slashes with an eight pointed star in center and a double curved projection on one edge. Probably a single, isolated design for a man. Possibly a version of the Kayan lukut (bead) design, for a man's wrist (see P204 and Hose and Shelford Plate IX, Fig. 10. |
