Description

One of a series of woodblock prints with color depicting the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. This print shows the Great Battle of Pyongyang. Japanese soldiers are in the foreground standing in a river firing upon Chinese soldiers in the distance. A commander is seen standing behind a tree with mountains in the distance. There are inscriptions in red in the margins and a seal and signature for the artist Yukawa Hiromitsu.
