| Description | Marble female head. Frontal, locks falling down sides of the neck. Top flat and only roughly worked. Back rough. Broken off at base of neck. Nose and chin abraded; otherwise rather worn. Edith Hall Dohan, on original catalogue card, suggested Cybele. Possibly part of a caryatid(?). Dull, grayish white marble. Green stain, as from bronze, on back surface. 11116 in ink on top surface. |
