| Description | Vermeule: Red Jasper. Intaglio. (Modern gold ring setting) Cupid driving a biga of swans to right. The subject occurs in several Graeco-Roman decorative marble reliefs. In an example in Vatican collection Cupid drives a biga of boars, in other instances animals are dromedaries, stags, owls and even geese. Graeco-Roman. |
