| Description | Wooden beam that fits together with other beams to form a rectangular structure to suspend a loom (82-7-242.1). This horizontal beam runs perpendicular to the loom on the oppsoite side of where the weaver would sit. It fits into slots halfway down between two vertical beams (82-7-292H, 82-7-292K). The middle part of the beam is covered with cloth to protect that threads that run from the loom over the top beam (82-7-292E) and back toward the beam above the weaver's head (82-7-292C). This protects the threads from rubbing against the wood as the textile is woven. |
