| Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted yellow with multicolored zigzag lines above and below red-painted, downturned eyes. A "T" shape is painted in red in place of a nose. A patch of brown fur is attached to the top of the head and feathers are attached to the fur. The body is painted pink and yellow and a cloth kilt is tied around the waist. This figure is the Heheya (or Hehea) Katsina. (Colton, H. 1959 #34) |
