| Description | Rebab. 2 gut strings. Polished mahogany back with mother of pearl and metal inlay. Parchment face; ebony neck front with inlay and carved out circular designs. 2 spool-like wooden pegs (lateral). Peg box curves back from neck. Neck is as wide as body where the 2 join and tapers slightly towards pegbox. Horsehair box (29-201-638b) should be with instrument. "This was made by Cotheel, the best instrument maker in Morocco." |
