| Description | Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Circular gold pendant setting) which fitted into a backing. Aeneus carrying Anchises from Troy in burning ruins behind him. Ascanius trots along ahead to left. Possibly used as cover for a box containing a scent or (pomander) ridge along gold rim suggests this fitted into another piece. |
