| Description | translucent. pot-shaped? one side smooth, other side has hebrew script. Sommerville Cat. 1506: "Jade - Persian talisman. Oblong. This talisman appears to commence with a disguised form of the divine name, Eloki for Eloah. Then follows a number of Hebrew words, interspersed with mystic combinations of letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which here, however signify numbers. The last two lines a prayer. "(God) He who guards Rebecca, the daughter of Huri, and her child Anam." " |
