| Description | Dionysiac scene. Dionysos at right, striding toward left, right leg forward. Thyrsus vertical in left hand, phiale in right hand. Naked except for a length of drapery slung over both forearms and behind him. Satyr at left, much shorter than Dionysos. Face 3/4 frontal, looking back toward Dionysos. Torch in left hand, situla in left. Above, a female figure (a maenad?) facing toward left, right arm stretched forward, the other stretched back holding phiale and beads in hand. The figure is shown only from the waist up, rising above a thin, deeply curved ground line. B) Two tall standing youths, facing each other, both wearing a garment covering them from neck to ankles. |
