| Description | Lower portion of a railing pillar (thaba), from a stupa, with rough hewn base and full lotus rosette on the face at right and a long narrow V socket on the left side of the face. Evidently this was an inner angle of the railing. Below the lotus rosette is a narrow band of floral ornament. The left edge of the block bears a partly defaced full lotus above a band of squares containing rosettes. The right edge is rough hewn, with a V socket. The back contains a decorative band with a pair of makaras at the end and a pair of lions facing eachother. Grey marble. |
