| Description | Bone. Relatively cylindrical. One end flat with notch for foreshaft. Other end has a broken cylindrical butt which probably tapered to a point for attachment to shaft (see 50-51-5). Where it emerges from socket, butt-end has a hole drilled through it and a hole going up into the socket body itself. Where it is broken, butt-ends shows evidence of either a deep notch or another hole. Hole near butt-end and notch in one side near foreshaft end. Near center are three parallel horizontal bands carved in low-relief. |
