Description

One of a series of woodblock prints with color depicting the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. This print shows the capture of the gunboat Soko at the Battle of Pungdo. There is a boat in the foreground with Chinese soldiers and another boat flying the flag of Japan in the background with a large battle ship behind it. There are inscriptions in red in the margins and a seal and signature for the artist Yukawa Hiromitsu.
