| Description | Vermeule: Carnelian. Intaglio. (Modern gold ring setting) Bust of Socrates facing a similar bust of Dionysos of the "Sardonopolis" type. Dotted border inscribed between in Greek letters APOLLODOTOU. Neo-Classic, perhaps in imitation of a 4th century B.C. or later gem. |
