| Description | Vermeule: Chalcedony-Onyx. Cameo. (Modern Silver Ring Setting) A Greek woman of the IVth B.C. style standing to right, pulling her ample cloak about her. The design seems to be copied from a Neo-attic marble relief, a Tanagra type terracotta figurine, or one of the figures on the so-called Sarcophagus of the mourning women in Istanbul. Probably 19th century. |
