| Description | Split root of spruce tree. Narrow band of woven de-sign in self colour at top and bottom; between these two bands, large geometric design in red and black. The black dye is obtained from blueberries; the red is calico soaked out and boiled in white alder bark. Technical notes: twined, close twined, two-strand, in-between weave (with plain), diagonal twill/twining, three-strand, wrapped weft ("false embroidery"); 12 warps and 14 wefts per square inch. Inverted bottom, related to NA8606. |
