| Description | A color woodblock print of a battle scene from the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5. It is a triptych of three sheets of paper. With the city gate in the distance at center, Japanese troops are shown defeating the Chinese. At the right a canon is fired and an explosion with bodies flying dominates the left-hand side of the picture. The title of the picture in Japanese is in the inscription at the upper right: "Great Victory for Japan" and in the lower left hand corner the artist and publisher are given: Nobukazu and Hasegawa Enkichi. |
