| Description | Depiction of how the Sun came into the world in a fiery, volcanic explosion. The upper right is an underground path lined with prayer arrows and footprints, showing the Sun's path to the west. The lower left shows the Sun Father being sent into the sky by Grandfather Fire and his assistant, Deer Person Kauyumari. The diagonal band from lower right to upper center is the Sun's path to the sky. (Furst, 2003 p. 95) |
