Prunus and Birds. Scroll. Attributed to Ma Kui 馬逵 (1194 - 1224 CE). Unlikely to be 13th century but a nice copy of the Ma-Xia school. Possibly 18th or 19th Century. Brush strokes are quite stiff. Colophons by four scholars on a separate sheet in the scroll. Formerly in the collection of John Calvin Ferguson (1866 - 1945 CE). |
