| Description | Flaked tool. Possibly step scraper or core. Grey stone. Finger shaped groove. 57-5-5 exhibits definate evidence of chipping. It may have been a core from which other tools were fashioned or perhaps is simply a by product. This is one of a group of objects from a single site. It is similar to 57-5-2, 57-5-3, 57-5-4 and 57-5-5 in type of stone and in its angularity but does not have a concave reworked edge. The crudeness of these forms along with the small assembly of items from this site appear to represent Late Paleolithic stone tool technology. |
