| Description | Octopus bag with beaded floral seaweed designs. The bag is made from dark blue, wool, trade cloth with eight flaps hanging below, four on each side. The central, beaded design is in white, green, blue, pink, orange, and yellow beads. The outer edge of the bag is lined with black cloth and then white beads. Each of the four hanging flaps, or "arms," is divided into two at the lower end. The arms are decorated with beaded seaweed designs in the same colors as the bag, with red beads added. Each arm terminates in a pair of red and blue tassels with red and blue beads strung along the upper portion of each tassel. A thin, cloth, carrying strap is attached along the upper edge. The strap is made from dark cloth with short fringe where it attaches to the bag. |
