| Description | Writing lesson, ink on paper. For school boys. Large stiff paper like a poster with large characters. Calligraphy practice sheet - brush and ink on paper. The characters are taken from the Qian zi wen 千字文 “1000-character text”, an old literacy primer, copied out with brush and ink six times: 外受傅訓,入奉母儀. “Outside the home, accept the instructions of your master; at home, honor your mother's model behavior.” This is followed by a row of unrelated zhi 之 “it”. Other smaller characters and hangul are at the bottom as well. The calligraphy is that of a child learner or possibly an adult foreigner. |
