| Description | Fragment of lip and wall of chalice (?). Gently conical profile. The lip is merely the upper termination of the wall. On the wall, over the white ground, is painted a naturalistic tendril, horizontally placed, with parts of 2 leaves, in purple-brown, and parts of 2 lotus-like flowers: brown outline filled with orange. Interior covered with white ground. Light brown clay, fairly thin. Possible from Cretan version of Naukratite chalice (?). |
