| Description | A color woodblock print of a battle scene from the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5. It is a triptych with three sheets of paper glued together. Amidst flame and smoke soldiers with rifles, flags, and canons charge in front of the city wall. The short inscription in Japanese in the upper right hand corner gives the title: "The Fall of Pyongyang, Korea: Great Victory for Our Troops" and a longer inscription describes the battle and notes the role of the three Japanese columns. In the lower left, an inscription gives the name of the publisher, Katada Chojiro. The artist is Mosai Shungyo. |
