| Description | This was woven as a sash and subsequently cut across the middle and the two pieces joined lengthwise; fringe on one end. Red ground with yellow and purple warp stripes. Supplementary weft brocading: bird, diamond, flower motifs in yellow, purple cotton and light green, purple silk; two headless figures in yellow. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 46 epi three singles Z-twist red, yellow cotton, 56 epi three ply purple cotton. Weft: 20 ppi three singles Z-twist red cotton.Supplementary weft: two-faced. Made on a backstrap loom." |
