| Description | Statuette of lady with phoenix. Imperial coral carving. C686 and C687 are a pair. Wooden stand is C687B. These statues were each carved from a single piece of coral. The phoenix probably represented the empress. Coral carvings were often displayed on the desks of scholars and officials. |
