| Description | Canoe house type. Human figure, crouched behind shield; fish and scrolls above, drawn figures below. Iconography: figure represents wakiwakimanu (cf: 67-5-133) in fighting stance. (This type of shield not used in the Eastern Solomons.) Carving insipired by post in canoe house at Natagera Village. Carver: Reresimae, Natagera. Commissioned by W. Davenport, completed Oct 1966. |
