| Description | Probably made with European tools. Hatchet shaped blade with bevelled edges. Short 8-sided stem with mid-section square and incised with cross-hatch. Short bowl also 8-sided; bands around top alternately has cross-hatch plane and plain one across it; bottom band has diagonally lined planes and plain one. Mid-section of bowl carved in elongated diamonds. Label says "Sioux pipe stone from Pipe stone quarry, Dakota". |
