Description

Two pieces of rope made of muka (processed New Zealand flax). One piece of rope is thick, the second is thinner.

Harakeke is an important plant in Māori culture that is widely used for weaving clothing, mats, baskets, rope, netting, etc., as well as medicine. After being extracted and processed, harakeke is called muka (processed flax fibre).
