| Description | Candle-nuts are here called "damar." [sic] When pounded up with a little Kapok the residuum is pressed about a stick and can be stuck into any crevice where a light is needed. [Candlenuts are also burned for light, but there seems to be some confusion in the collectors' description: it is damar, a resin, that is used to make torches. See P1587.] |
