"Rider, (no headdress). Hair worked with a pin, the beard with pin and fine reed. Face carefully modelled; eyelids shown, mouth slightly opened, large projecting ears, cleft chin. Wears long-sleeved, high necked shirt and knee-length anaxyrides with wavy folds; on upper bodu superimposed folds indicate outer garmet over shirt. Right hand clenched, with fingers modelled, left hand missing. Of horse, only the tail preserved; long, flying, with cross-hatched incision, again done with a pin; on tail, trace of thin white wash. Greyish-tan clay with black and white slit, fired very brittle...The costume is that of a Parthian and the style suggests Syria as the place of origin..."
