| Description | Sommerville: Carnelian - Cincinnatus preparing to take the field. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case I. Vermeule: Carnelian (glass?) Cameo. (Unmounted). Scene of a warrior arming, a composition copied from an Italitic ringstone. Sommerville identifies subject as "Cincinnatus preparing to take field" but a scene from the Trojan war is probably intended. 19th century. |
