| Description | Sommerville: Sardonyx. Hippocrates. One of the finest cameos in my collection. Gold and Bronze Rings - Cameos, Case QQQ. Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Modern gold (reset) ring mount) Head of man facing to left, elderly bearded and bald over forehead, The features resemble those of St. Paul as preserved on early Christian medallions. Italian, from the Baroque style, perhaps XVIIth Cent. |
