Description

Plain. Turnip-shaped body; bulging neck with everted lip; two vertical loop handles on body; two knobs opposite each other on neck.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. The vessel has two protrusions opposite each other on the neck. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. There are drying cracks present on the interior of the neck. Evidence of usewear includes black staining on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1623 c."
