| Description | Wall Hanging, Kalaga. Black flannel with silk, cotton, sequins, colored braid and gold thread applique and embroidery. Scenes from the Ramayana, from left to right: Ravana, ogre king and his sister, Surpanakha; Garuda; Ravana bearing Sita on his flying chariot; Ravana holds a sword and is dressed as an ascetic and holding Sita's hand; Rama going to catch the golden deer for Sita; Rama lures deer with food; deer taking Rama further into the forest; Rama bringing back the deer which was cut in two and hung from his bow; Lakshmana greeting Rama. |
