| Description | The ground is of native fibre of the dark type; some of the yarn appears to have been smoked - see 37-22-45. Stripes of red-brown, blue and the natural color of the lighter-colored type of native fibre. These cloths are all made up of narrow strips stitched together; the looms are made for a narrow web. The cloths are often stored away, representing wealth. They may be used as blankets, or made up into wide gowns of North African type. |
