| Description | Sarong with metallic threads (tembe sonke). Modern sarong made of predyed synthetic thread with gold-colored supplement weft. Woven on a wide (lowland type) loom, machine sewn. Made in 1980 in Sila, collected in Larodu hamlet. Bought to be worn by a bride. Maroon, with horizontal bands of gold-colored sonket designs. Middle three have snowflake like pattern, outer two are broad symmetrical borders, five bands deep. Yellow-wefted back panel with narrow vertical gold stripes. |
