| Description | A dark, wooden, oval shaped shield with fluting on both sides. The back side has two indentations in the middle connected under a thin strip of wood, creating a handle. The front of the shield has a lot of wear including a deeply carved vertical line with three horizontal lines across it. Above this mark are two horizontal cuts in the wood. The collector, J.T. Huston incorrectly spelled the native name of this object as al-coorta. |
