Description

A deposit stamp (預切手) similar to a Japanese hansatsu (藩札) or clan note. It was issued by the Asano clan (浅野) or the Iehara (家原) village. The denomination is five monme of silver (銀五匁). It likely dates to the Edo Period (1603-1868 CE).
