| Description | Marble. Finished edge above only. Back finished. Large undulations of grapevine with one cluster. Beneath one undulation a human figure, face frontal, shown from the chest up, grasps a crocodile, Futher to the left another human figure, naked, shown from the lower abdomen up, advances toward the crocodile brandishing a stick. He wears a broad conical hat. At the extreme right a flower and tendrils twine around the grapevine. Possibly pygmies? |
