| Description | Tambura. Long wooden neck: hollow with rounded back and slightly convex fingerboard. 16 arched movable metal frets. Back of neck flares out into 5 leaf-shaped pieces which attach to gourd back to body. Metal strings stretch from 1 ivory hook at base of body over a movable ivory bridge, to 5 pegs (3 on 1 side, 2 frontal). 2 pegs along side of neck with strings attaching inside neck. Good condition. Only 1 string whole and attached. |
