| Description | Spherical knob, fully glazed, pointed at top. Around base of knob a band of irregular rays. Top has gentle slope at rim, which projects nearly horizontally. Rim unglazed. Underside which has a prominent flange, is also unglazed. The lid itself, as found was wrongly numbered MS4784, as 4784 is a sealstone. So we have changed its number to 4874 (the catalogue card says this number is a lid). |
