| Description | Mask of Heishitori (瓶子取) the wine-cup bearer from Kotokuraku (胡徳楽) the Dance of the Virtuous Barbarians. Originally cataloged as Kokobo. Grey-brown lacquer, interior in very poor shape; eyes, forehead, and cheeks deeply marked with furrows, red lips, rounded head, two rows of teeth with side gaps showing gums. Large. Very damaged lacquer. Used in bugaku dance. |
