| Description | Small, black lacquer portable shrine with chased bronze trimmings. An eight-armed Monju, a bodhisattva of wisdom, seated on a lion, occupies the center of the shrine. In his hands he holds his attributes, the sword and scroll, as well as a wheel (symbol of the Dharma), a hatchet and a pendant. Fugen, bodhisattva of goodness, seated on an elephant, is painted on the left door and a guardian figure on the right. |
