| Description | Picene Bell-helmut. Bronze. Circular. Two ball projections on either side. At front and back are two small oblong pieces through which hole is pierced. Hemispherical helmut, with flaring brim. There is a band of tongue decoration done in incision on the brim. There is an oblong strip of bronze attached to the front and back of the helmet with a hole punched through; in conjunction with a pair of raised bands on the helmet these oblong strips probably held a crest. On either side of the helmet is a bronze covered lead (?) buss designed to deflect sword strokes. |
